![]() Often when rifles were cut down they reused the front sight and placed it in the same location as the rifle, which is incorrect for a carbine.Īs already stated, there should be a saddle ring on the left side.Ī couple of other easy checks would be to make sure that at the forward end of the stock you don't see any indication of a plug in the wood (used to fill the cleaning rod channel). It also appears to have the proper front sight in the proper location (again, hard to tell from the picture). Hard to tell from just the one pic, but that "looks" to be a carbine taper on the barrel (you'd have to measure it to make sure).
